Title: “Serious Periodontal Disease of Children Molars. Which type of Treatment ?”

Abstract:

The importance of the 1st molar in children is well knowed. It is generally the first permanent tooth which erupts and which will constitute a pillar for the arrangement of the dental arch and for the occlusion.

Unfortunately, its involvement is frequent and when a periodontal lesion appears it can progress to a more severe stage until the extraction of the tooth and all the problems that this can cause.

We will show here that periodontal treatment, although poorly tolerated by a child, is often considered to try to maintain a compromised molar. In effect Periodontal reconstruction, although not always predictable, is a good choice.

In case of failure of the periodontal treatment, we have two options:

– its replacement by a transplant of 3rd molar germ

– its replacement by the backup option: a implants placement
